VDS of Philosophy
The Vienna Doctoral School of Philosophy fosters excellence in the academic and professional development of early-career researchers in philosophy. It promotes a rich plurality of philosophical traditions, methods, and ways of thinking. As a member, you become part of an internationally oriented and vibrant philosophical community at one of the largest philosophy departments in Europe.
The VDP offers a broad range of support measures for its members, including:
- personal onboarding
- training and networking events
- writing evenings and an annual writing retreat
- support and funding for PhD researchers to organise workshops, invited talks, and summer schools
- grants for conference participation, research stays, and dissertation completion
- counselling on the PhD process, supervision, and the transition to a postdoctoral career
- opportunities to expand your supervision committee with postdocs working in your research area.
